01/04/2009
Mobile backhaul issues thrown up by greater utilisation of bandwidth among mobile internet users can be tackled with the use of managed MPLS solutions, an expert has claimed.
Chairman and president of the IP/MPLS Forum Andrew Malis stated that mobile operators on a global scale should take heed of the possibilities of the technology.
He continued: "Mobile operators around the world should now view backhaul implementation [and] MPLS-based solutions as proven and ready to tackle their mobile backhaul issues in their networks."
Mr Malis also praised those who manufacturers who took heed of MMBI guidelines and regulations and who have subjected their products to an "extensive battery of tests".
The IP/MPLS Forum is a non-profit organisation which is comprised of vendors, service providers and testing centres with the common goal of driving the success of IP/MPLS products worldwide.
