Demand 'always exists' for better broadband

Firms looking for business broadband solutions are likely to be receptive to next generation developments in the technology, one expert has claimed.
Mark Gregory, head of communications at Ernst and Young, said that previous uptake of improved broadband services should be seen as an indicator that next generation broadband will be a success.
"Every time there has been an increment in broadband capacity provision there has been absolutely no problem with that capacity being consumed and taken up," he said.
Mr Gregory recently spoke at the Westminster eForum keynote seminar, called Next Generation Broadband - Who pays for the next phase - and he believes user demand is a barometer that has been ignored in the debate.
This opinion is backed up in Ofcom's executive summary of the delivery of super-fast broadband, in which the regulator said that there is no sign of slowing up in demand for better broadband solutions.
