Expert: IT outsourcing a must for small firms
03/04/2009
Outsourcing is a necessity which smaller businesses should be making use of in the current economic climate, an expert has stated.
Chief technology officer and co-founder of ColoSpace Aaron Sawchuck has advised firms that have been forced to downsize during the recession that IT outsourcing is the best option open to them in terms of maximising productivity while downsizing.
It can offer the opportunity to continue expansion while avoiding recruitment expenses, he added.
"This is especially true for the small to medium-sized businesses," Mr Sawchuck explained. "If a [business] has fewer than 50 machines they rarely need a full-time server administration or network staff."
He concluded that renting, rather than buying new software servers is more cost-effective for IT businesses in the long-run, reports SearchDataCenter.com.
The benefits of IT outsourcing are also something that software provider DMC solutions is convinced of. The firm stated in December that it can "provide a company with reduced expenditure and the ability reallocate resources to better effect".
