24/04/2009
Boston Legal, the US TV show famous for bringing the work of lawyers into the public eye, was famous for the high drama of its episodes.
Now one real life law firm in the Boston area has realised that such dramatic incidents are not always confined to the TV schedules and has improved its business continuity plan to help it deal with any eventuality.
A local business continuity firm has helped by installing a system which aim it deal with any disasters affecting the delivery of its vital emails.
Brett Jaffe, president of IT4, the business continuity firm in question, explained: "The firm did not have the budget to deploy and manage a clustered application [multiple e-mail servers that could provide e-mail failover]."
Business continuity can help companies deal with anything from a prosaic email outage to a dramatic natural disaster, such as a flood.
