A leading IT consultancy firm has announced the appointment of its first business continuity manager - a move which highlights the growth of the business continuity market.
Richard Fleischman and Associates (RFA) has appointed Dwayne Bethea, formerly of UBS, Morgan Stanley and AIG into the newly created position of business continuity manager, according to the Wall Street Journal.
RFA president Richard Fleischman said: "In welcoming Dwayne, we also demonstrate our commitment to deep customer contact as demand for our programs and services in business recovery planning and disaster recovery increases."
Demand for business continuity and disaster recovery services is increasing globally as businesses realise the importance of backing up vital data such as clients personal details.
Recently, the London School of Economics joined the growing list of high profile organisations to sign up to business continuity schemes, explaining that data and certain software programs were its crown jewels, which it could not afford to lose.
