Money is being wasted on 'inefficient' continuity schemes

21/10/2008

Businesses in the UK are spending money on disaster recovery programmes that aren't performing to their best abilities, it has been claimed.

This issue is set to be addressed by a disaster recovery workshop, reported onestopclick.co.uk, which is scheduled to be held in November and hosted by Jermyn Consulting.

Aspects to be covered during the event include the moderating of disaster solution methods and how firms' IT professionals can play a more active part in their implementation.

"All too often, organisations either overspend on IT continuity or stick with tape backups, because they can't measure their requirements," explained David Davies, spokesperson for Jermyn Consulting.

This news comes after F5 Networks last week claimed that many firewalls are failing to prevent malicious software attacks.

Harvinder Rajwant Singh of the firm warned that this could present companies with problems when it comes to the establishment and upkeep of security systems.
