Ethernet 'is on the up'
20/05/2009

Ethernet is one of the most up-and-coming IT technologies currently available, according to internetnews.com.
The website claims that the high-speed internet technology is not only getting faster, but the industry is also currently developing recognised standards of certification.
Brad Booth, president of the Ethernet Alliance, a collective of Ethernet suppliers which is developing the certification standard, told internetnews.com that the technology did not need a recognised standard before.
However, the increasing spread of the technology means that recognised standards could now prove useful to customers.
Mr Booth added: "Certification is a good way to set a level bar to make sure the equipment will all be plug and play."
Recently, the UK government announced its intention to invest in a nationwide network of high-speed internet connections stretching to every house in the country.
