New Ethernet tool launched

Patton, a US-based IT company, has announced the launch of a new tool designed to make operating Ethernet easier for businesses and individuals.
The new device known as the IpStatMux Model 3038, will provide companies with the ability to migrate to all-IP networking by transparently transmitting as many as eight asynchronous EIA-232/V.24 data-streams over Ethernet or IP and synch-serial composite links.
Patton claims that this new model is the only one currently available on the market which integrates four or eight such asynchronous data-streams with dual Ethernet ports and a synchronous serial port.
Johnnie Grant, product manager for the company, said: "Ethernet or IP is the future of industrial networking. Sooner or later, any existing RS-232 device will require an IP network connection."
Ethernet connections provide the potential for superfast business broadband, which can enable companies to take advantage of cost-saving technologies such as cloud computing or voice over internet protocol (VoIP) communications.
