Online operations 'the future for businesses'
26/09/2008
The "business channel" of the future lies with the internet and e-commerce, an expert has claimed.
Vice president of management solutions firm Tealeaf Geoff Galat predicted that the internet has become a viable and respected way of doing business.
"It has to be the only channel for the future because it has lots of efficiencies and in the current financial climate it's the best way to reach customers," Mr Galat explained.
He also highlighted statistics which recently found that 52 per cent of people now prefer to do their shopping online.
He urged businesses to implement proper management and monitoring procedures, however, to avoid downtime and data mishaps.
Recent figures calculated by telecoms company BT found that 45 per cent of 1,000 mobile phone owners polled have used their handsets to browse for products online within the last three months.
