Virtualisation may attract 'Facebook generation'

The virtualisation of offices may help firms attract employees from the Facebook generation of workers, experts have predicted.
Writing for ZDNet.co.uk, Nick Heath wrote: "The shift [to virtualisation] should help businesses cater to 'millenials' who want to use their own technology - including iPhones and instant messaging - at work."
Virtualisation would see workers given more of a choice about they hardware they use to do their job, with virtual machines allowing staff access to their business applications and data from laptops, Blackberries or internet enabled phones without needing a physical work PC at a desk.
Clive Longbottom, service director for business-processes facilitation at analyst house Quocirca, predicted that virtualisation will become increasingly popular among businesses of all sizes.
Recently, one of the UK's largest cinema chains, Cineworld, announced it was adopting virtualisation technology to make its website run more efficiently.
