Businesses advised to switch to VoIP technology

An advisor has urged businesses to switch to VoIP technology as it is not expensive to install and can prove cheaper than a traditional landline.
Dr Adam Le Gresley, head of operations at Technology Means Business (TMB), has said that businesses should look past the initial expense to see the long-term benefits VoIP can provide.
"If anything, VoIP is cheaper, to an extent, than some of the larger providers," he commented.
Dr Le Gresey highlighted that whether a firm has a physical office or employees working from home, "you can have everything linked up to a relatively cheap voice-over-internet system".
The advantages of having everything "dealt with centrally by your VoIP provider service" include easy organisation and automatic voicemail and call-holding systems without any extra costs "unlike a lot of the conventional market", he added.
A survey conducted by The Bathwick Group and published by silicon.com found that VoIP technology came third behind laptops and handheld computers when it came to businesses' planned investments last year.
